Apple Candle Holders

apple corer
large red apples (try to pick apples that will sit straight on the table)
candles
waxed paper
potato peeler
lemon juice
Using the apple corer, make a hole halfway through the middle of the
apple, trying to keep it as straight as possible and remove the core
piece. The candle should fit tightly; if the hole is too large, wrap
waxed paper around the candle end. Carve designs into the apples
with the tip of the potato peeler. To prevent carved parts from turning
brown, rub with lemon juice. For a base, use plate or cutting board.
Discard within 2-3 days.
