Good night . . . Scouts, we're going to leave you now.
Merrily we Scout along, scout along, scout along.
Merrily we Scout along, on the Scouting trail.
Farewell, . . . Scouts . . . .
Sweet dreams, . . . Scouts . . . .
. . . Scout Camp, . . . Scout Camp
The busses that you ride in, they say are mighty fine,
But when they turn a corner, they leave the wheels behind.
Chorus
I don't want to go to . . . Scout Camp.
Gee, Mom, I want to go, but they won't let me go;
Gee, Mom, I want to go home.
The leaders that they have here, they say are mighty fine,
But when you get up closer, they look like frankenstein.
The first aid that they give you, they say is mighty fine,
But if you cut your finger, you're left with only nine.
The water that they have here they say is mighty fine,
But when you try to drink it, it tastes like turpentine.
The biscuits that they serve you, they say are mighty fine,
But one rolled off the table and killed a friend of mine
The spaghetti that they serve you, they say is mighty fine
They rinse it the toilet and drain it on the line/
The cocoa that they serve you, they say is mighty fine
It's good for cuts and bruises and tastes like iodine.
The tents/cabins that you sleep in, they say are mighty fine,
But whoever said this has never slept in mine.
The toilets that they have here are the best that they can get,
Last night my tent mate had to go, they haven't found him yet.
An elephant stood on the web of a spider.
She felt it was strong, it couldn't be tighter.
Along came her friend. She called to invite her.
Two elephants stood on the web of a spider.
Two elephants stood on the web of a spider.
They felt it was strong, it couldn't be tighter.
Along came their friend. They called to invite her.
Three elephants stood on the web of a spider.
Three elephants...
Four elephants...
etc....
"I'd like to be a Cub Scout"
His eyes were the deepest blue.
"I'd like to learn, and play, and build
Like Jim and Freddy do."
"I know how to use a hammer;
I can drive a nail if I try.
I'm eight years old, I'm big and strong
And hardly ever cry."
I gave him the application
and parent participation sheet.
His eyes were filled with sunshine
as he left on dancing feet.
The next day, my friend was back again -
a dejected little lad.
"I guess I'll skip the Cub Scouts."
His eyes were dark and sad.
"My Mom is awful busy -
she has lots of friends, you see.
She'd never have time for a den;
she hardly has, for me."
"And Dad is always working -
he's hardly ever there.
To give them any more to do
just wouldn't be quite fair."
He handed back the papers
with the dignity of eight years,
And, smiling bravely, left me.
His eyes were filled with tears.
Do you see your own boy's eyes
as other people may?
How he looks when you're "too busy"
or "just haven't time" today?
A boy is such a special gift -
why don't you realize,
It only takes a little time
to put sunshine in his eyes.
(Tune: When Irish Eyes are Smiling)
When Cub Scouts all are smiling
Sure it’s like a morn in spring
For a mid their joy and laughter
You can hear the music ring.
When all the pack is happy
and the night seems bright and gay,
With that fine Cub Scouting spirit,
Sure it wins you right away.
A freezing tent, a freezing tent,
The rain is coming down in a freezing tent.
A freezing tent, a freezing tent,
The rain is coming down in a freezing tent.
Wet blankets, wet blankets,
The rain is coming down in a freezing tent.
Wet blankets, wet blankets,
The rain is coming down in a freezing tent.
For food, friends, and fellowship.
We thank Thee, Lord.
Por sus-ten-to y amis-tad,
Gra-cias Senor.
A great big sea hove in long beach.

A great big sea hove in long beach,
And Granny Snooks, she lost her speech.

Oh, dear mother, I wants a sack.
Right foloral taddle diddle Ido
Oh, dear mother, I wants a sack
With beads and buttons all down the back.
To me right, fol diddy fol dee.
Me boot is broke, me frock is tore.
Right foloral taddle diddle Ido
Me boot is broke, me frock is tore,
But Georgie Snooks I do adore.
To me right, fol diddy fol dee.
Oh, fish is low and flour is high.
Right foloral taddle diddle Ido
Oh, fish is low and flour is high,
So Georgie Snooks, he can't have I.
To me right, fol diddy fol dee.
Pack up your luncheon in your brown knapsack
And hike, hike, hike.
Take all you need upon your own strong back
Wander where you like.
Leave the road to motor cars,
The sidewalks to the bikes-but . . .
Pack up your luncheon in your brown knapsack
And hike, hike, hike.
When you hear dem bells go ding, aling, aling
All join 'round and sweetly you must sing
And when the verse am through, in the chorus all join in
There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight
It isn't any trouble Just to s-m-i-l-e,
It isn't any trouble just to s-m-i-l-e,
If ever you're in trouble
It will vanish like a bubble,
If you only take the trouble just to s-m-i-l-e.
