Special Needs Scouting, What will work best for your Scout

By: Posted On: 2013-07-06

Hello Everyone,

PtSteve again here and now Scoutmaster Steve as as Special Needs Scoutmaster.  One of the questions we run into much of the time is when is the best time to see if a Special Needs Troop will work best for your Scout.  Below are some considerations.

If a Special Needs Scout is thriving in his Home/Traditional Troop we would suggest he should stay there. If a Special Needs Scout needs additional help/time/attention in addition than his Traditional Troop can not provide, we would advise the Scout to consider being a part of his Traditional Troop and a Special Needs Troop

If a Special Needs Scout is not thriving or his Traditional Troop cannot service him, we would advise the Scout join a Special Needs Troop
