New Committee Chair and Cubmaster

By: Posted On: 2013-01-31

Hello Everyone,

I hope your Scouting year has been an active and good one, it has been here.  I am taking on a new role as Committee Chair still doing Den Leader for my Pack and still serving as the Cub Scout Roundtable Commissioner.  It is an interesting juggling act, but getting it done.

When I took over as the Committee Chair the Adult Leader who took over as Cubmaster has been with the Pack for 2 years as a Den Leader.  The challenge to me is not to be the overbearing "senior" or experienced leader to the new Cubmaster.  I have full confidence in the new Cubmaster and I have to remember to let him do his job, even when I am telling myself it is easier if I do it.

Part of my job is to help him along, but not to do his job.  We are having Graduation this month so we are towards the end of this Scouting year, but we have activities that will take us through the Fall of 2012.

If you have any ideas or thoughts please share and as always keep your sense of humor.

Yours in Scouting, ptsteve
