The Journey to Arrow of Light: A Mom’s Perspective

By: Posted On: 2011-11-25

If you have been reading my posts you already know both my boys are Webelos and are working toward their Arrow of Light award together.  As their mom I want to push the boys to work hard to achieve their goal.  I have to fight the urge to constantly remind them to skip playing with their friends and get back to work on whatever their current badge project is.  But I know part of being a Scout means being responsible so I try really hard to step back and let the boys come to me when they’re ready to get to work.  Sometimes this method works…and sometimes it doesn’t.

Over the next few weeks and months, I will be chronicling my boys’ journey toward Arrow of Light.  Hopefully there are other parents out there who are reading this and will have an “Oh I’m so glad it isn’t just us!” moment.  If nothing else, enjoy a coffee time giggle at what my family is great for – calamities.  J
