I was recently talking to my friend Tom at http://CampfireGrill.com. He decided not to only become a InsaneScouter sponsor but to also give away three of his awesome grills. This is how the give away is going to work... There will be a first, second and third prize. Open only to registered InsaneScouter users. If you are not already a user sign up now! The three winners will be announced in the August newsletter. Now the meat of it... For each recipe you submit you will get one chance to win a grill. Winners will be chosen based on the recipes they submit. We are looking for recipes that Scouts can make on there own or with a little help while at camp. If possible photos would be nice. Also please let us know who to credit the recipe to, for example the creators name, or even a unit name / number. You may submitted more then one recipe, however please don't spam us either. To submit recipes just email it to us at news[at]iswebteam[dot]net All appropriate recipes will be compiled into a e-book. Everyone who submits a recipe, that we use in the e-book, will receive a copy of this e-book by email, once compiled. Good luck, and good eats... Scott Robertson InsaneScouter

This was the recipe if it can be forwarded somehow.
This is a recipe we have enjoyed... smores got boring, and I'd done this for years at my job (I was an experiential therapist at an Outdoor Psychiatric facility).
Banana Boats
1 banana
1 scoop p-nut butter
1/2 chocolate bar
Take banana with peel on, and split down the center, length-wise, almost completely in half. Take scoop of p-nut butter and spread into split. Take chocolate bar and break into small pieces, placing them into the split as well. close split and wrap entire banana in foil. Place on coals for approximately 5 minutes, turning gradually. Use tongs to lift off coal, and allow to cool for approximately 1 minute. open foil and banana to eat with a spoon.
The smallest of Tigers can make this using a plastic knife and love the creation of the dessert as well as the eating of it.

Debbie Stitz
Recipe Ingredients:
• 2 lg eggs
• sausage, bacon, or ham
• any of your favorite omelet veggies
• shredded cheddar cheese
• salt and pepper to taste
Cooking instructions:
Crack eggs in a ziplock bag. Add shredded cheese. Add meat and veggies salt and pepper to taste. Put baggy in a pot of boiling water for about 5 to 10 min. Then just cut bag off and enjoy!
Variations/Hints:
You can make a western omelet with sausage, cheese and bell peppers, just add salsa. Or just veggie omelets or ham and cheese... Just have fun!!
Comments:
These are great and they come out just like a real omelet. You can make up a lot of these before hand and just throw them in the water when you wish.
baggy omelet recipe@ on 07/11/2010 Please ignore the above recipe, it was pointed out to me that it is not safe to boil food in a ziploc. Sorry. We've only done this as a family not with Scouts. No Mess S'mores@ on 07/11/2010 No Mess S'mores

Ingredients:
tortillas
mini chocolate chips
mini-marshmallows
Put chocolate & marshmallows on a tortilla. Amount varies with each person's taste and size of tortilla. Roll like a burrito. Wrap in foil and warm on the grill or the campfire for about 15 minutes. Handle with oven mitts or pot holders or towels, since they will be hot! Peel and eat like a banana!! Delicious! Can add toffee bits, fruit, sprinkles or use caramel topping or spread with peanut butter. Your imagination and ability to roll is your only limit. Have tried these in the oven and they are okay, but we prefer the campfire.
