It is with great sadness that I let you know of the passing of my father. Donald L. Robertson October 22, 1950 – February 26, 2015. Don passed away at his home in Dayton Nevada. He was born in Ripon, Wisconsin and moved to Hawthorne, California at a young age. He joined the Air Force in 1971, serving his country for 20 years before retiring as a Master Sargent. He married Alice on May 6, 1972. He is survived by his wife Alice, daughter Kelly, and son Scott. He enjoyed camping, backpacking, travelling and kept busy at home with landscaping the yards. He was a kind, modest and gentle man, the sort of person small children and dogs are drawn to.
Don joined scouting when he was eight years old and it became his passion. He was an Eagle Scout, Bear in WoodBadge, NYLT course director, held numerous Pack, Troop, District and Council positions. Don was a good husband and father, and a great scouter who mentored legions of youth and adult leaders for over 40 years. He started several Troops, brought many more back from the brink of collapse, trained thousands of leaders, and positively affected countless young lives. He will be missed!
