2014 Fieldbook Hits the Shelves

The fifth edition of Fieldbook: Scouting’s Manual of Basic and Advanced Skills for Outdoor Adventure is now available. It covers hiking, camping, canoeing, mountain travel, ultralight backpacking, wilderness navigation, whitewater kayaking, and much more.

Sea Base Announces 2014 National Aquatics Workshop

The 2014 National Aquatics Workshop will be held Oct. 22–26 at the Florida National High Adventure Sea Base in Islamorada, Florida.
The schedule includes ample time to enjoy the warm climate and natural beauty of the Florida Keys. The conference is especially well-suited for council aquatic chairs and National Camping School staff members.
The conference begins with dinner on Wednesday, Oct. 22, and concludes after breakfast on Sunday, Oct. 26. A what-to-bring list will be provided about 30 days prior to the workshop.
Each session will be staffed by experienced, well-informed Scouters. Some of the topics to be covered include:
