Scouts learn about the merit badge they have chosen to learn by reading
the merit badge pamphlet which can be purchased from the local scout center
or your troop library may allow you to check it out. After the Scout feels ready
to start working on the badge he sets up an appointment with a merit badge counselor
who will teach and sign off the requirements upon completion. The individual
Scout is responsible for finding, making an appoint, and working with the merit
badge counselor.
