One, a 9-11 Ceremony

This might be something nice for a service unit to sponsor on 9/11 or join with local firefighters, police, in a ceremony already being planned.

Speaker One: As the soot and dirt and ash rained down,
Speaker Two: We became one color.
Speaker One: As we carried each other down the stairs of the burning building
Speaker Three: We became one class.
Speaker One: As we lit candles of waiting and hope
Speaker Four: We became one generation.
Speaker One: As the firefighters and police officers fought their way into the inferno
Speaker Five: We became one gender.
Speaker One: As we fell to our knees in prayer for strength,
Speaker Six: We became one faith.
Speaker One: As we whispered or shouted words of encouragement
,
Speaker Two: We spoke one language.
Speaker One: As we gave our blood in lines a mile long,
Speaker Three: We became one body.
Speaker One: As we mourned together the great loss
Speaker Four: We became one family.
Speaker One: As we cried tears of grief and loss
Speaker Five: We became one soul.
Speaker One: As we retell with pride of the sacrifice of heroes
Speaker Six: We become one people.
