You Are My Hero Buttons

We all have many people in our lives that we admire, dad, mom, teacher, Scout leader, etc. This
month would be the perfect time to let that person know how much they are appreciated and
looked up to. Present them with a “You Are My Hero” button and put a smile on their face!

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:
Wooden badges (craft stores have all shapes and sizes)
Acrylic paint
Sponge and paintbrushes
Water to rinse brushes in
Paper plates for the palette
Paper towels
Bar pins
Contact cement
Stickers, if desired
Clear varnish (Optional)

BUTTON INSTRUCTIONS:
Step 1: Paint the button solid color using a sponge brush.
Step 2: Add small detail with a small paintbrush.
(To make dots, dip the blunt end of the paintbrush in paint. Wipe off
end of the brush each time you dip to get more even dots.
Step 3: Let dry thoroughly.
Step 4: For a shiny finish, use a sponge brush to apply clear varnish.
Be careful, if you use some types of pens the varnish will
cause them to bleed!
