Materials needed: Styrofoam ball, clay pot, blue, yellow and white felt, yellow fabric, blue pipe cleaner, twine, wooden spool, wooden wheel, and hot glue.
The diameter of the styrofoam ball should be just a little larger than the bottom of the clay pot. Turn the clay pot upside down. Cover the clay pot with blue felt (Scout shirt). A few slits may need to be cut so that the felt with fit snug at the top of the pot. Cut out two blue sleeves and attach white mittens to the sleeves. Glue the sleeves to the pot with the seam of Scout shirt in the front. Cut the yellow fabric into a square. Fold the square in half to form a triangle (neckerchief). Use the pipe cleaner (slide) to tie the fabric together. Poke a hole through the ball. On top of the ball cut blue felt in the shape of a hat (round circle with a small brim) and a yellow felt curved triangle in the front. Draw a face on the ball. Cut a piece of twine about 24” long. Thread both ends through the ball and down inside the pot. Attach the wooden wheel and spool to the twine. Tie the 2 ends of the twine together leaving enough extra so the wooden wheel and spool can work as the chime. Glue the ball (head) to the pot (body).
