Picture Ornaments

Materials Needed:
Foam sheets,
clay,
juice or plastic lids,
paper,
paints,
ribbon,
clay ingredients (listed below).

For the juice or plastic lids cut out two pieces of paper.
One is for the background and the other piece is for the backside of the lid.
Glue the picture inside the lid.
Wrap and glue the ribbon around the edge of the lid.
Remember to add a loop for hanging.
Write the date of the picture on the back of the ornament for a remembrance.
For the foam sheets either use pre-made shapes or trace the desired shape
onto the foam and cut it out.
On the front cut out the picture hole as well.
Glue around the edges leaving an opening for inserting the photo.
For clay ornaments, use a recipe that needs cooking
(4 cups flour, 1 cup salt, 1 ½ cups warm water. Knead 10 min. Keep in an airtight container until ready to use. Bake 350° for 30 min.).
Use cookie cutters or make freehand shapes.
Leave a spot on the front for the picture, or glue the picture to the back of the ornament.
Poke a hole in the ornament with a nail or paper clip before cooking for hanging later.
Make sure the hole is big enough because it will shrink slightly when baked. Paint with acrylic paints after cooling and finish with a clear coat sealant.
