New England Baked Beans



1 1/2 lb Dried beans -- soaked overnight
5 c Water
1 md Onion
1 tb Salt
1 c Brown sugar
2 tb Molasses
2 ts Dry mustard
1 1/2 c Ketchup
1/2 lb Bacon -- cut in cubes
Water -- to cover

Soak beans overnight in 5 cups water, then simmer until the skins begin to break. Add remaining ingredients and cover with water. Cover pan and bake in a pit for 5 to 6 hours.
