The Den Leader's Light

Den leaders with lit candles, and a leader to hand out candles to boys.

We are here tonight, Cub Scouts and Parents, to honor these Cubs and Webelos Scouts, who have advanced along the Cub Scout trail since we last met as a Pack. As the Cub travels along this trail, a very important person guides his steps - his Den Leader. These dedicated leaders meet every week with the boys, giving of their free time to help Our boys grow toward the goal of manhood.

To symbolize the important experience the Cub Scout and his Den Leader share, let each boy light his candle and receive his award tonight from his Den Leader. As he lights his candle, will each leader say his name and award? Boys, then take your award to your parent or guardian to pin on you.
