Just under a month ago, delegates to the BSA’s National Annual Meeting approved a resolution lifting the ban on gay youth members as of Jan. 1, 2014. Of course, you doubtless already know that since the news has been broadcast far and wide.

What you may not know is what various stakeholders have had to say about this historic vote. The BSA has recently posted a host of official and unofficial statements from major religious chartered organizations at http://www.scouting.org/sitecore/content/MembershipStandards/Implementation/Viewpoints.aspx.

As you work with your own chartered organization on implementing the new policy, you may find these statements helpful.
