Scouting A Nation Booklet

By: Posted On: 2010-12-04

For those of you who were asking, here is the story behind the “booklet”. Think of the booklet as a printed newsletter, for lack of better terms. It will be between 6 and 10 pages and contain resources to help Scouter's, such as, games, crafts, ceremonies, recipes, songs, stories, skits and cheers. The booklet will be made available to Scouters for free both in person (if we meet up, see below) and from the InsaneScouter and Scouting A Nation websites as a pdf. It will be paid for by sponsors.

“Scouting A Nation” is an adventure, lasting at least one year, that will take me exploring the nation. During this trip I will visit Scouter Leaders, Units, Trainings, Camp-o-rees, Summer Camps, events, activities, etc as invited by leaders involved with said event. I already have about a dozen invitations. If you would like to invite me to a Scouting function, just drop me an email scott [at] insanescouter.org.

At events I am invited to I would be happy to let the Scouts see the rig I live in, how I use solar power and other “green” technologies to live on the road, and other gadgets I use. There are a number of outdoor skills I may be able to teach them. Also I could talk about my laundry list of learning disabilities and how I have learned to control and live a normal life with them.

What I am currently looking for are those who are interested in being a sponsor of “Scouting A Nation” which includes an ad in the booklet and ads on both InsaneScouter and Scouting A Nation websites. If you are interested email me at scott [at] insanescouter.org and let me know your interested in being a sponsor. I look forward to talking with you.
