contents of InsaneScouter's rope boxWhen I was still a teenager I started working at the local Scout Camps teaching Pioneering merit badge. The camps supply of material was lacking in those days, so I started creating my own stock inside a trunk. As you can see this one box holds a lot of stuff. Including of course synthetic rope, natural rope, string, stakes, a pulley, s hooks, carabineers, gloves, etc.

In this one box is enough material to lash together a tower, or even a monkey bridge. The rope is already per-cut to the correct lengths for lashing. I actually have a rule, if you use my rope you cannot cut it. Also recoil, and put away the rope the way you found it. I take care of my rope and have some that goes back twenty plus years, and is still in good condition.

What kind of pioneering equipment do you have? How do you store it?
