Scouting is a game.  Being a well trained leader allows you to guide the boys how to better play the game and have fun.  Being a well trained leader you have the knowledge how to play the game safely and keep the boys coming back.

Now taking the required training is now REQUIRED by BSA before you can become a leader and stay as a leader.  Bottom line, get trained either online or in live training sessions offered by your District.  You are not limited to having to take the training offered by your District, you can go to other Districts if the training offered works better for your schedule.

The boys deserve trained leaders, they really deserve "well-trained" leaders to bring to them the best of the Scouting program.  Hope that helps. YIS, ptsteve
