 How many times have you been on a campout and joked about wishing you had a microwave, a coffee pot, a heater, a fan or even a refrigerator? Did you know you can get all these devices to work in camp?All you need is 12 volt power such as the power port in your car or a portable 12 volt power supply.

(I am not affiliated with any of these sites in anyway, no sponsorships, etc.. Found all of these with the magic help of google).

Tired of being cold at night in your tent, why not go for a 12 volt heater and fan http://www.12volt-travel.com/12-volt-all-season-heaterfan-with-stylish-chrome-finish-black-accents-p-5929.html or maybe a electric blanket http://www.12volt-travel.com/12-volt-electric-blanket-58-x-425-100-polar-fleece-p-5631.html

Would a Crockpot and a blender be handy? http://www.12volt-travel.com/12-volt-appliances-c-88.html how about a coffee maker http://www.12volt-travel.com/12-volt-coffee-makers-c-92.html

There are some pretty nice portable microwaves out there here is one example http://www.12volt-travel.com/550-watt-microwave-and-800-watt-power-inverter-package-p-5735.html and here is another http://www.thewavebox.com/

There are some amazing portable refrigerators. Keep in mind the thermoelectric ones use more power and can only cool up to 40 degrees below the room temperature. On flip side the much more expensive refrigerator ones, in some cases can get well below 0 Fahrenheit. In both cases they come in a wide variety of sizes. http://www.12volt-travel.com/12-volt-refrigerators-c-630.html

Do you wish your car had a compass and a weather station? Why not add your own http://www.amazon.com/Roadpro-Digital-Compass-Temperature-Alert/dp/B000KFKDW0

12 Volt Camping
@Paula Hrbacek on 04/01/2011
There's another way to do it too. We went camping with our Cubs at a family camp on the same weekend as the big Florida/Florida State game. The dads couldn't miss it. One dad brought a TV, every power cord he owned, and one of those plugs that turns a light socket into an outlet. He ran the cord all the way to the camp ground's bathroom, unscrewed one of the bulbs, inserted the outlet, and let all the dads watch the game in the back of his pickup truck. Now that's using your resources!
