My next Scouting journey will be as a Tiger Den Leader next year with my son Patrick as we start his trail through Scouting. We've found a house in Charlotte so now I get to look forward to him going to a round up at school and getting super siked about joining a den with his new friends. We hope to find an established troop for my daughter as she begins work on her Girl Scout Silver Award. Venturing is also just over the horizon in a few years. I always try and help get the word out on important things in the hobby and Ryan Braddy asked me to share the news of the OA trading post blow out sale. I myself and tempted to get a jacket and some patches at these low prices. Today I am helping to chaperone a group of 8th graders on a trip to Carowinds. This is a big amusement park in Charlotte, NC. The students were not excited to hear that they have to stick with the teachers but one of the boys in my group is die hard Boy Scout so...

One really surprising thing he said in the conversation was that last year there were a bunch of people signed up for his staff detail that never showed their face. This never occurred to me that Scouters would sign up for a job and then never show up. Chris said they are taking steps this time to make sure that doesn't happen. As for the adult patch trading rules it sounded like they were leaning towards keeping things like 2013 with some tweeks.
